Zaru Lodge

This stunning chalet for 12 (8 adults) is just a few minutes drive from the shops, bars and restaurants of La Clusaz. If you would prefer not to drive, the lifts are located just below Zaru Lodge.

In summer, the pistes are transformed into lush green pastures and the lake at Confins become a popular leisure area, with tennis courts, horse-riding and walks.

As well as a great location, fabulous views and in impressive pool, this stunning lodge also has a lift which connects three of the four floors, a ski store and a sumptuous master suite with a balcony, seating area and breathtaking views of the mountains.

About the property ...

Accommodation at Zaru Lodge has been carefully planned over four floors to make sure there's plenty of room for 12 guests to get together, but also to find their own space.

When you return to the property after a day's skiing, you'll enter on the ground floor. Leave your skis and boots on the racks in the garage, which also has room for a car, and head to the pool area, where you can relax on the loungers or take a cooling dip.

When you're ready, climb the stairs to the first floor, or take the lift, which connects this floor to the next two floors, making the property easily accessible for those with limited mobility.

Four of the five bedrooms are on the first floor. There's a double room with a large en suite shower and bathroom and a children's room, with two sets of custom-built bunk beds and an en suite shower room. The other two rooms, both doubles share a Jack and Jill shower room with double sinks. These rooms also open onto the garden - the perfect place to enjoy your first coffee of the day.

The top floor of Zaru Lodge is devoted entirely to the very special master suite. A large double bedroom opens onto its own sunny balcony with views of the Fernuy and Aiguille peaks. There's also an elegant en suite bathroom with a separate shower and double sinks, and a living room. Both of these rooms have separate access to the bathroom.

The beautiful light-filled living area at Zaru Lodge can be found on the second floor. There's a sleek contemporary kitchen, with all the equipment you need to cook up a feast for a hungry crowd. There's plenty of room to eat together at the large dining table, which looks out onto the sunny balcony. After dinner, why not enjoy a coffee out here, under the stars? If you'd prefer to stay inside, you can snuggle up on the cosy sofas in front of the suspended fireplace, and perhaps watch a film. The kids can also enjoy playing on the Nintendo Switch.

Bookshelves separate this area from another seating area, where you can relax, read a book or perhaps even gather around the piano for a song or two!

About the area ...

You'll be on the pistes in minutes when you stay at Zaru Lodge, with the La Balme and Fernuy ski lifts just a short walk from your door. If you're looking to explore other areas the ski bus stops at the lifts, putting the whole of the Aravis ski resorts at your disposal - more than 220km of perfect pistes and 95 lifts in the stations of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod.

Cross-country skiers, walkers and snowshoe walkers will find great terrain at the Beauregard plateau and nearby Lac des Confins. In fact, the footpath for Confins goes right past your door, and it's a wonderful walk in both summer and winter.

If you're visiting in April, you're well placed to see the unique Défi Foly competition, when daredevil skiers end the season by seeing how far they can ski down the hill and across the rapidly thawing Lac des Confins!

If you fancy a break from the pistes, La Clusaz has an ice rink, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools a spa centre, and a cinema. If you’re looking for a challenge, try sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides, all within a few miles of your holiday home.

There is no shortage of summer fun and adventure within a few minutes of Zaru Lodge. There are plenty of gentle family walks in the Lac des Confins area, where you will also find a tennis club, golf course, driving range, fishing, a riding centre and several restaurants.

Take the lift up into the mountains for some high-altitude hiking or biking, or try white-water rafting, canyoning, via ferrata and para-gliding in the La Clusaz area.

The crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy are just 40 minutes drive away, making it a great place for a day out - you can swim and fish in the lake, windsurf or just hire a boat and explore the lakeside beaches.
